Bathtub. Normandy, France.

Easter on the coast of Normandy avec les amis Frechon at their cottage and being the petulant youth I was (am) spent nearly the whole time reading in the clawfoot bathtub in an attempt to evade pleasantries, family bonding, etc. If only I'd known this was to become a lifelong habit spending 3/4ths of my day submerged in water. Well if it's good enough for Morrissey it's good enough for me.

William Webb Sr. (in memoriam)

Undoubtedly saw my dead grandfather whom, it should be noted, I hardly knew casually walking down Cherry Street on my way to class today. My elaborate childhood fantasy of tracking him down as an adult never realized but I did meet him once--self-proclaimed "hustler--always been a hustler and not a conman because there's a difference, you know."

Adelphism and Nostalgia

The story goes that Paul McCartney was reading Ubu Roi while writing Maxwell's Silver Hammer...though why he alludes to 'pataphysics as opposed to something in Ubu itself remains unclear. Pink Floyd has nothing to do with Jarry (as far as I know). This is just a delightful song.

Alfreds: Douglas, De Musset, Agostinelli

Though the ill-fated Agostinelli is better known in the realm of literature by the name Albertine.
